Blackpool Tower Circus Review: Worth It or Just Nostalgia?

Blackpool Tower Circus Review: Worth It or Just Nostalgia?

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

October 2025 | Blackpool Tower Circus ★★★★★

For my 25th birthday this year, I decided to go to Blackpool purely for the nostalgia. Growing up, I spent every October there, so going back felt like I was saying goodbye to a part of my childhood, while also wanting to experience some of my favourite memories again.

But honestly, I was shocked. Blackpool has changed a lot. It felt really run down in places and you can tell Covid hit it hard.

So going into the circus, I didn’t expect much.

I was completely wrong.

Mooky (Laci Endresz Jr.) and Mr Boo (Tom Endresz) completely make the show. As brothers, the chemistry between them is just insane. The banter feels so natural, like they’re not even trying, and that’s what makes it so funny.

They both come from a circus family, which you can tell straight away. Nothing about it feels forced, it just feels natural, like this is exactly what they’re meant to be doing.

Mooky took over the role earlier from their dad, and knowing it’s been passed down like that just adds another layer to the whole show.

There’s actually a montage during the show about their family history, and that’s what really got me. Seeing everything come together like that made it feel so much bigger than just a performance. I was genuinely tearing up watching it.

You can tell how proud they are of it, and it honestly feels like everyone involved is part of something really close and personal, not just putting on a show.

What made it even better for me is that I had actually seen them before growing up, I just didn’t remember the shows themselves.

I went to the circus quite a few times between 2008 and 2012, and I remember things like getting my face painted the same as Mooky and even getting a photo with him on stage, which I sadly don’t have anymore.

But I didn’t really remember the performances, just their faces. So going back now, it felt weirdly familiar but also completely new at the same time.

They involve the audience constantly, which makes everything feel really personal. There’s even a birthday section, which I wasn’t expecting at all, and somehow I ended up finding out I had about 15 birthday twins in the audience. It just added to the chaos in the best way.

The humour is exactly what you’d expect from a circus, but it doesn’t feel outdated. And it’s definitely not just for kids. There are loads of jokes that go straight over kids’ heads but land perfectly with the adults, which makes it feel way more balanced.

There’s also a lot of history behind it. The Blackpool Tower Circus has been running since 1894, and you can actually feel that when you’re in there. It still feels like a proper part of Blackpool rather than something that’s just been left behind.

The show itself is a mix of everything, acrobatics, comedy, dancers, stunts, and there’s always something going on so it never drags.

The acrobats were really impressive, especially the strength acts where they’re climbing all over each other and balancing in ways that just don’t look possible.

But for me, the best part of the whole show was Mooky and Mr Boo.

They completely carry it. The way they interact, the timing, the banter, it’s what makes everything work. Even now, my fiancé still quotes them, which honestly says everything about how memorable they are.

There were also bigger stunt moments, like the motorbike section, which felt chaotic in the best way and had everyone completely focused.

The dancers were great as well and play a really important role in the show. They help keep everything running smoothly and make sure there are no gaps between acts.

Everything flows really naturally from one part to the next, and you can tell how well everyone works together to keep the whole performance moving and the energy up throughout.

And the water stage… I did not expect that at all.

Watching the ring literally fill up mid-show was such a moment. It makes the whole thing feel more immersive and a bit different from what you’d expect a circus to be.

After the show, I went up the Tower itself, which honestly made the whole experience even better.

It’s so much higher than you think, and standing on the glass floor looking straight down is slightly terrifying but also one of those things you have to do. There are loads of photo opportunities up there as well, so it’s worth taking your time.

Inside, you can also learn more about the Tower and how it was inspired by the Eiffel Tower in Paris, which I didn’t actually realise before.

Overall, this completely changed how I felt about the trip.

Blackpool might not be what it used to be, but the circus proves that some things still hold their magic.

I didn’t expect to feel emotional watching it, but I was genuinely in tears at parts and holding my breath at others.

One of the best circus shows I’ve seen, easily.

And 100% worth it, whether you’ve been before or not.

I’m already looking forward to going back, especially now they’re advertising their brand new show for 2026.
